We have developed a number of programs over the past 13 years for the children in our care namely:

• The provision of a range of school materials for each child for each academic year. Each child in our care receives 12 exercise books, 10 pens, a school uniform and a bag over each academic year. We see education as the most essential element for helping children to escape poverty. It is essential that each child in our care never has to worry about not being able to obtain an education.
• The provision of basic medical support for each child is another essential element of the care that we provide. Each child in our care receives support with medical expenses of up to 200 birr per year.
• The provision of three meals a day [breakfast, lunch and dinner] for each of the children in our care is another major element of the support that they receive. These children come from a background of constant hunger and food scarcity and by providing them with regular meals we are able to stabilize their physical health and allow them to focus on leading a more normal life as children.

Others

• All of the children in our care are provided with casual clothes and shoes each year.
• All of the children in our care receive regular supervision with their schoolwork and follow up on their academic performance including attendance and progress.
• All of the children in our care receive quarterly health checkups as well as psychological checks and educational training. The check ups are provided for both the children and their parents/guardians.
